The college honored Gar-Lin Dairy Farms in Eyota, Minnesota, with the 2017 Dairy Appreciation Award at the Minnesota Dairy Health Conference in Bloomington, Minnesota, in April.

A high-performance, high-resolution DNA sequencer was installed in the research laboratory at the University of Minnesota Mid-Central Research and Outreach Center in Willmar, Minnesota, in November to help provide solutions to problems facing the turkey industry.

College of Veterinary Medicine faculty and staff conducted 341
admissions interviews of aspiring veterinarians in January and
February.

The College of Veterinary Medicine awarded 56 scholarships totaling $249,000 at the annual spring scholarship reception in April—which brought the total scholarships awarded during the 2016-17 school year to $627,000.
