The event also included the presentation of the College of Veterinary Medicine Outstanding Service Award to Minnesota State Representative Rod Hamilton of Mountain Lake, Minnesota. Hamilton was instrumental in helping the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory improve and expand its services to Minnesota’s livestock and poultry industries. His leadership also resulted in the expansion and remodeling of the Minnesota Poultry Testing Laboratory in Willmar, and the new Veterinary Isolation Laboratory currently under construction.
