Samithamby Jeyaseelan, DVM, '01 PhD, was named the William L. Jenkins Endowed Professor and Director of the Center for Lung Biology and Disease at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Srinand Sreevatsan, BVSc, MVSc, MPH, '95 PhD, was named as the new Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Education at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Michigan State University, in August 2019.

Randy Simonson, ‘81 PhD, from the Veterinary Microbiology graduate program, was elected as a member of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents in 2018.

Terry Kreeger, '84 DVM, PhD, retired as a Wyoming State Wildlife Veterinarian in 2013, became a Lifetime Honorary Member of the Wildlife Society in 2016, and recently received the Roger Wilson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Wyoming Chapter of the Wildlife Society.

Maggie Baldwin, '13 DVM, was recently named Colorado assistant state veterinarian. Baldwin will focus on emergency management and disease response activities, and overall management of division activities.

Carla Rodrigues, '13 DVM, released a book in December titled, Release Your Inner Beast, about her battle with endometriosis. Her book is available for purchase on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Amanda Doran, '12 DVM, CHPV, recently finished CHPV certification with the IAAHPC. She also started a new branch of MN Pets, a Twin Cities based in-home euthanasia practice, servicing Duluth, Minn., Superior, Wis., and the surrounding area.

Samithamby Jeyaseelan, DVM, '01 PhD, received the 2019 Rainmaker Award as a senior scholar in science, technology, engineering and mathematics from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. The Rainmaker award recognizes his contributions to research in the area of innate immunity against pathogens as it relates to inflammation and injury in the lungs and extrapulmonary organs.
