  • Laura Lefkowitz, ’93 DVM, has a book out called Bite Me: Tell-All Tales of an Emergency Veterinarian. It’s a reality-based, uncensored look at the world of modern veterinary medicine.

  • Karen Shenoy ’04 DVM, was promoted in January 2021 to director of field sales and engagement at Hill's Pet Nutrition. 

  • Marie Gilbertson, ’17 DVM, ’21 PhD, has accepted a post-doctoral position at the University of Wisconsin–Madison starting at the end of January 2021. She will be working with Dr. Wendy Turner, studying deer movement modeling and Chronic Wasting Disease transmission.

  • Anna Ruelle, ’11 DVM, MPH, started a new position in November 2020 as a veterinarian at Camden Pet Hospital. 

  • Sara Sokolik, ’18 DVM, started a new position in August 2020 as Associate Veterinarian at Avian and Exotic Animal Care. 

  • Brandon Treichler, ’12 DVM, received the James A. Jarrett Award for Young Leaders at the 2020 AABP Virtual Conference in September. This award is given to a member who has graduated in the past 10 years and exemplifies leadership via significant contributions to the association. Treichler serves as a quality control veterinarian with Select Milk Producers, working primarily with dairies in western Texas and eastern New Mexico. He is active with the national Mastitis Council and serves on the ABP Animal Welfare Committee.

  • Nina Kieves, ’09 DVM, started a new position in October 2020 as president of  American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation. 

  • Katherine Worsley-Tonks, ’20, PhD, has accepted a post-doctoral fellowship at the Smithsonian Institute. Worsley-Tonks was advised by Dominic Travis, DVM, MS.

  • Amanda Salzwedel, ’11 DVM, MS, PhD, started a new position in January as a senior research biologist at 3M within the company’s Biomaterials Technology Group. Salzwedel was advised by Srinand Sreevatsan, BVSc, MVSc, MPH, PhD.
