  • Amy Snyder, ’94 DVM, has accepted the position of associate dean of clinical affairs for the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She is set to start the position on Aug. 28, 2023.

  • Srinand Sreevatsan, ’95 PhD, has been named the associate dean of research and graduate education at Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

  • Scott Willens, '96 DVM, PhD, DACVPM, will retire with 20 years of active duty service from the United States Army at the rank of lieutenant colonel on January 31, 2022. Willens will continue to practice small animal, avian, exotic, and aquatic animal medicine and surgery as an owner of Neighborhood Veterinary Associates in Clarksburg, Md.

  • Laura Lefkowitz, ’93 DVM, has a book out called Bite Me: Tell-All Tales of an Emergency Veterinarian. It’s a reality-based, uncensored look at the world of modern veterinary medicine.

  • Srinand Sreevatsan, BVSc, MVSc, MPH, '95 PhD, was named as the new Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Education at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Michigan State University, in August 2019.

  • In it’s January issue, The Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association highlighted a coalition of international researchers looking for a link between infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) and the influenza A virus in chickens. In November 2019, this project received a million-dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture. Marie Culhane, '97 DVM, '07 PhD, associate professor in the Department of Veterinary Population Medicine, was featured as a co-investigator on this project.

    Culhane's career has focused on studying influenza viruses in all species - especially swine and turkeys. Her research in this project seeks to better understand the impact of IBDV exposure and the spread of the avian influenza virus.
