Liz Pluhar, DVM, PhD, DACVS, received the 2020 Zoetis Award for Veterinary Research Excellence this fall.

Her pioneering work in discovering new treatments for glioblastoma brain tumors has extended life for many dogs and has produced similar results in humans. Pluhar joined the College in 2003 and emerged as an international authority on canine glioblastomas.

To date, over 350 dogs with brain tumors from the U.S., Canada, and the UK have been treated in her program.
