Abby Brown, an education program specialist and co-supervisor of the Teaching Technician Team at the College of Veterinary Medicine, has been recognized by the American Association of Veterinary Anatomists (AAVA) for her work as an instructor.
Brown is the winner of the AAVA Technical Staff Excellence Award, which honors a technician or instructional support staff member for their exceptional support of anatomical sciences education.
She will receive the award at the upcoming AAVA Conference at the University of Saskatchewan in Summer 2025.
Brown began her career with CVM in 2005 as a senior lab services coordinator for the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences. In 2015, she moved into an education program associate role for the department. She has been an education specialist since 2020, co-supervising the Teaching Technician Team, a centralized group of veterinary techs who help support first- through third-year DVM students in core class labs and in select fourth-year clinical rotations.
