The generosity of donors will allow the College of Veterinary Medicine to continue investing in and supporting veterinary medicine and education efforts thanks to gifts received on Give to the Max Day on Nov. 18.

Donors were encouraged to support The Raptor Center (TRC), the Lewis Small Animal Hospital Fund, and the Hercules Compassion Fund during the annual fundraising event. In total, about $225,000 was raised across these funds.

TRC accounted for a majority of the funds, with donors giving $175,000 through a 12-hour live stream event. The donations will be used to fund the operations of TRC’s onsite raptor hospital.

Gifts benefiting the Lewis Small Animal Hospital Fund will be used to support investments in life-saving equipment and adjust to changing needs to keep the community's animals healthy.
Gifts donated to the Hercules Compassion Fund provide financial assistance to clients of Piper Equine Hospital who may find themselves struggling with how to pay medical bills for their horses.

In total, the University of Minnesota raised more than $15 million through 6,000+ gifts on Give to the Max Day.
