  • Beth Thompson, ’07 DVM, stepped down as the Minnesota Board of Animal Health Director in May 2022 to take on new roles as South Dakota’s state veterinarian and executive secretary of the South Dakota Animal Industry Board.

  • Jonathan Elbaz, ’21 DVM, started at Tufts University in June 21 as a community medicine intern.

  • Ender Tuncay, ’19 DVM, started a new position in July 2021 as an ER veterinarian at North Georgia Veterinary Services in Atlanta, Georgia.

  • Claire Norman, ’13 DVM, started a new position in November 2021 as an attending veterinarian at NAMSA’s Minneapolis location.

  • Susan Detmer, ’02 DVM, ’11 PhD, is now serving as chair of University Council, one of the three governing bodies at the University of Saskatoon.

  • Zach Loppnow, ’17 DVM, will be starting an equine surgical residency program in California.

  • Brandi Larkin ’07 DVM, recently began working as a self-employed relief veterinarian.

  • Karen Shenoy, ’04 DVM, was recently promoted to the chief veterinary officer for Hill’s Pet Nutrition US.

  • Daryl Buss, ’68 DVM, was named the 2022 recipient of the AAVMC Billy E. Hooper Award for Distinguished Service. The award is presented to individuals who ​​have a history of service, research, education, or participation in the veterinary community. Buss is dean emeritus and professor emeritus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine and a retired editor of the Journal of Veterinary Medical Education.
