  • Katherine Worsley-Tonks, ’20, PhD, has accepted a post-doctoral fellowship at the Smithsonian Institute. Worsley-Tonks was advised by Dominic Travis, DVM, MS.

  • Amanda Salzwedel, ’11 DVM, MS, PhD, started a new position in January as a senior research biologist at 3M within the company’s Biomaterials Technology Group. Salzwedel was advised by Srinand Sreevatsan, BVSc, MVSc, MPH, PhD.

  • Fuyuan Wang, ’15 PhD, started a new position in November as a biocompatibility/toxicology reviewer in the Office of Product Evaluation and Quality within the Center for Devices and Radiological Health, a branch of U.S. Federal Drug Administration. Wang was advised by Sabita Roy, PhD.

  • Abirami Kugadas, ’11, MS, started a new position in June as senior scientist for Takeda in Boston, Mass. Kugadas was advised by Srinand Sreevatsan, BVSc, MVSc, MPH, PhD.

  • Juan Li, ’11 PhD, started a new position in May as a CNS research scientist at Spark Therapeutics Inc. in Boston, Mass. Li was advised by the late Michael Murtaugh, PhD.

  • Jun Han, ’08 DVM, PhD, recently received a National Distinguished Young Scholar award from the National Natural Science Foundation of China for excellence in science. The recognition comes with a $700,000 research award. Han is the associate dean for research and international programs and a professor of virology in the Department of Preventive Veterinary Medicine at China Agricultural University College of Veterinary Medicine. He was advised by Kay Faaberg, PhD, and Mark Rutherford, MS, PhD

  • Elaine Norton, ’19 PhD, has accepted a faculty position with the University of Calgary that will begin July 1. Norton was advised by Molly McCue, DVM, MS, PhD

  • Annette Lundberg, ’19 DVM, started a new position as a dermatology specialty intern at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center in June.
