    VMC residents earn national honors

Hannah Able, ’16 DVM, received the Early Career Clinical Oncology Research Award last month from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Her research mentors are Amber Wolf-Ringwall, DVM, PhD, and Jessica Lawrence, DVM, DACVIM, DACVR, DECVDI

Able’s winning project was entitled, “Prognostic utility of Computed Tomography radiomic features for canine lung tumors: An analytical study.”

Jennifer Bouschor, DVM, a third-year clinical pathology resident in the Veterinary Medical Center, was awarded the Eitan Bogin Prize for Best Poster Presentation by a young investigator for her poster, “Impact of Tumor Heterogeneity on the Cytologic Grading of Canine Cutaneous Mast Cell Tumors.” 

The award was presented by the International Society for Animal Clinical Pathology at the annual meeting. She also received the 2020 Charles Louis Davis, DVM Foundation’s Pathology Trainee and Scholarship Award. She is mentored by Daniel Heinrich, DVM, DACVP, and Davis Seelig, DVM, PhD, Diplomate ACVP.
