    Alumna Connie Sillerud named as MVMA president

Longtime Minnesota veterinarian Connie Sillerud, DVM ’83, will lead the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association Board of Directors as its next president. 

Since February 1987, Sillerud has owned and operated Companion Animal Eye Center in Golden Valley, Minn. In addition to MVMA, she also is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the International Society of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. 

Sillerud has served on the Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Services (AEVS) Board of Directors and the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Foundation Board of Directors. She is a past president of the MVMF and has served on the MVMF golf committee for 24 years.

Sillerud graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) in 1983. Following 18 months in general small animal practice, she returned to the University and completed a residency in comparative ophthalmology in 1987.
