The Lewis Small Animal Hospital, part of the College of Veterinary Medicine’s Veterinary Medical Center, has been reaccredited with the American Animal Hospital Association after passing a February site visit.
An AAHA team visited the hospital for an onsite evaluation as part of its accreditation process.
AAHA is the only organization that accredits veterinary practices in the United States and Canada. The AAHA-accredited designation is only held by 12–15 percent of veterinary practices in those countries.
Practices that choose to pursue accreditation are evaluated on stringent quality standards that encompass all aspects of veterinary medicine—from pain management and patient care to team training and medical recordkeeping—and are continuously updated to keep accredited practice teams at the forefront of the profession.
