Nina Kieves, ’09 DVM, started a new position as President at American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation in October.
Erika Butler, ‘06 DVM, started a new position as a veterinarian at Grand Rapids Veterinary Clinic. While studying at the University of Minnesota she used her education to better understand veterinary education on wildlife, population health and disease detection.
Aubrey Tauer, ‘08 DVM, started a new position as CEO of Azul Scientific & Medical Consulting. She is a board certified specialist (Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventative Medicine) in population medicine and public health. One of her biggest projects to date was creating an e-course for the Lincoln Park Zoo's Zoo Animal Health Network to train zoo employees in disaster preparedness and avian influenza.
Samithamby Jeyaseelan, DVM, '01 PhD, was named the William L. Jenkins Endowed Professor and Director of the Center for Lung Biology and Disease at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Samithamby Jeyaseelan, DVM, '01 PhD, received the 2019 Rainmaker Award as a senior scholar in science, technology, engineering and mathematics from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. The Rainmaker award recognizes his contributions to research in the area of innate immunity against pathogens as it relates to inflammation and injury in the lungs and extrapulmonary organs.
Deepack Deshpande, DVM, MS, '04 PhD, was recently promoted to associate professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University, Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia, Pa.
