New fourth year students awarded white coats

Class of 2020 White Coat

Students in the DVM class of 2020 were awarded their white coats at the annual University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) White Coat Ceremony on April 20 at Ted Mann Concert Hall in Minneapolis. The 99 students received their coats from various alumni, faculty, and friends of the CVM.

The ceremony marks the end of three years of classroom study. The class will now begin their fourth year in veterinary school, during which time students spend 13 months completing clinical rotations in the Veterinary Medical Center. Students can choose from more than 65 rotations in which they will learn methods of veterinary care and develop skills needed for professional practice. Fourth year veterinary students also complete up to 10 weeks of externship experiences at off-campus sites of their choice.
