Chloe Adams, a fourth-year DVM student at the College of Veterinary Medicine, recently received a 2025 American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) Award for Proficiency in Primary Care.

The award recognizes fourth-year AAHA student members who have shown outstanding clinical proficiency in delivering primary care to their patients. Adams was selected by the Veterinary Medical Center’s Primary Care team as the recipient for CVM.

Prior to entering veterinary school, Adams gained primary care experience working as a veterinary technician at the Animal Humane Society. There, she interacted with a wide array of patients and clients.

"Chloe understands the nuance of general practice and comes prepared with a range of options for owners in keeping with the spectrum of care,” the Primary Care team wrote in its nomination letter. “She covers the pillars of preventive care in her visits and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Chloe cares about people and their pets and meets them where they are.”

During her time at CVM, Adams has been involved with the Student Initiative for Reservation Veterinary Services, including serving a term as its president.

As part of her award, Adams will receive five years of complimentary AAHA membership as well as free access to other AAHA continuing education opportunities, services, and publications.
