  • Polly Mattila, '06 PhD, is now a research scientist at the University of Pittsburgh. She recently moved to the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.

  • Humphrey Lwamba, '05 MS, is currently regional manager of the Horn of Africa Diagnostics Division of Roche Kenya Limited in Nairobi, Kenya.

  • American_Humane_Janet_Helms

    American Humane appointed Janet Helms, '92 DVM, as national director of the American Humane Farm Program. Helms was previously senior dairy technical services veterinarian for Zoetis in the Pacific Northwest.

  • Joseph Bartges, '93 PhD, is now professor of internal medicine and nutrition at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.

  • Andrew Peterson, '69 DVM, was recognized for his knowledge and expertise in the livestock industry at the North Star Classic Livestock Show in Valley City, North Dakota, in December. Peterson started the Enderlin Veterinary Clinic In Enderlin, North Dakota, in 1975 and continues to practice mixed animal veterinary medicine.

  • John Fritsche, '66 DVM, of Racine, Wisconsin, received the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association’s 50 Years of Membership Award during the WVMA’s annual convention in October. Fritsche is a mixed animal veterinarian who spent the first 20 years as a large animal veterinarian and the last 25 years as a small animal veterinarian. He retired in 2012.

  • Marvin Rohm, '57 DVM, received the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association’s 50 Years of Membership Award at the association’s annual convention in October. Rohm is a large-animal veterinarian who spent 35 years practicing in Rudolph and Auburndale, Wisconsin.

  • Joe Hammes, ’18 DVM, got a job at Sunny Dene Ranch in Mabton, Wash.

  • Lisa McCargar, ’04 DVM, got married in Mexico in April.
