Andy Johnson, ’76 DVM, was inducted into the Cattle Production Veterinarian Hall of Fame for his dedication, influence, and leadership in the field of cattle production veterinary medicine in September 2019.
Tamara Baranczyk, ’18 DVM, finished an internship at Wisconsin Equine in July 2019.
Llewellyn C. Peyton, ’74 DVM, was inducted into the hall of fame at his undergraduate alma mater, Alcorn State University, for his contributions and leadership in the field of veterinary medicine in August 2019. Peyton was the first African American to graduate from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), and is one of two African American men to graduate from the CVM.
Maggie Baldwin, ’13 DVM, started a new position as assistant state veterinarian at the Colorado Department of Agriculture in August 2019.
Jennifer Welter, ’17 DVM, started a new position as cardiology resident at CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets in Leesburg, Va., in July 2019.
Lara Stephens-Brown, ’18 DVM, started a new position at Bayshore Equine Veterinary Services, in Harvey, Mich., in June 2019.
Mitchell Bellrichard, ’15 DVM, received an award at the Research and Creative Activities Forum for his project “Genipin Crosslinking to Promote the Attachment and Proliferation of Fibroblasts on a Ligament Scaffold,” on April 5, 2019. Bellrichard is a comparative medicine postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Missouri, in Columbia, Mo.
Rebecca Rettkowski, ’19 DVM, started a new position as veterinarian at Pierz Veterinary Clinic in Pierz, Minn., in June 2019.
Chris Thomson, '15 DVM, recently started a fellowship in surgical oncology at Colorado State University.
